Volunteering was a new term to both of us before we came to Canada. During the pandemic, we joined the CEFS volunteer team for the elderly. Later I got my driver’s license and joined the delivery team to deliver gifts and prizes to the elderly, giving them a sense of joy and warmth. When CSFS held the Harvest Festival celebration in the park, Ms Li, the president of the community, gave me the task of setting up the venue and hanging the red fabric for the logo. It was a very strong wind on that day, but the venue and the fabric hanging on the wall did not waver. Everyone complimented me and I was very happy inside. In the Harvest Festival, we also had a great harvest and won the “Outstanding Volunteer Award”. We will work harder to achieve our goal of volunteerism and add style to our old age.
